TeslaLink
I made a React webpage specifically for use as a default homepage for a Tesla vehicle.
Last year, I purchased a Tesla Model Y. After doing cost-per-mile calculations for gas, we realized we were spending $500+ a month on fuel. I have solar panels, so fuel costs can be basically eliminated - this means I can move the $500 a month expense from fuel to car payment. After doing all the math, I was able to turn in my lease early on a gas vehicle and purchase a Model Y for pretty much equal total net transportation costs. Awesome!
I found a few websites made specifically for a Tesla that had shortcuts to commonly used sites, and also implemented a “hack” to fullscreen ANY webpage. But they were all pretty terrible. I mean, what would you expect a Software Engineer to do when faced with this scenario?
So I built TeslaLink: https://teslal.ink
This ia a React site that has links to common site, organized by category, and my own version of the fullscreen hack. Check it out!
I also am migrating a lot of my systems to Caprover. I currently have the dev environment for TeslaLink deployed on a dev Caprover server, which can be accessed here: https://teslalink-dev.app.jasondale.me/
